In September, as the nation celebrates its 250th anniversary π, Chatham County's own story deserves a spotlight. Join us as Cindy Schmidt of the Chatham County Historical Association shares a look back at the people, places, and pivotal moments that shaped our community's role in American history. CCHA opened our county's museum in the newly reopened historic courthouse of downtown Pittsboro in April 2013. Cindy Schmidt has staffed the museum and volunteered with the organization for the past 12 years.
From colonial roots to the county's contributions through the centuries, this talk offers a fresh perspective on how local history connects to the bigger American story - perfect timing as communities across the country mark this milestone anniversary.
