Moving from the coasts?  I am an ex-New Yorker, an ex-Californian and I am a relocation specialist. As a trailing spouse I have relocated with my husband all over the US, buying and selling in all market conditions. See my reviews for some of the people I have helped to relocate to the area.  I am a real estate investor, managing a vacation rental and a rental property. I also love helping first time home buyers.
I love living in the Chapel Hill/Durham/Raleigh area. There is so much to do here. We have the richness of major universities here, their sports, concerts, lectures and drama. We have a diverse population that brings wonderful ethnic restaurants and sensibilities. We have lakes with boats to rent, professional sports teams, the second busiest entertainment venue in the US (DPAC), and a huge arena. Being a part of the state capital area there are wonderful museums, trails to walk and ride and gardens to admire. I really can go on and on about this place.
I play and teach Mah Jongg and volunteer at community centers. I am hoping to eat my way through all the wonderful restaurants in the area. I belong to a chorale. My husband is a scientist and through his work and my own love of travel I have been to Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Japan, the Philippines, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Israel, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Canada and Mexico.
In a past career, I was a clinical social worker who also did administration. I know how difficult relocating is, and while I have refined the art of relocating to an efficient process I know relocating involves more than just finding the right house. You have to find a social group and places to feel are an extension of your home, be they houses of worship, play or education. Part of what I think is my job is to help you learn about what this community has to offer so you can make a home for yourself and your family.
